XBMC
When it comes to building a HTPC (Home Theatre PC) there is; in my opinion only one contender for the media centre solution - XBMC.
I have used XBMC since it’s first incarnation as XBMP – a media player for a modified original Xbox and have seen it evolve into the best media centre solution available – plus it’s free!
I had been using XBMC on my Xbox up until a few months ago when it became apparent that in todays high definition world, the Xbox hardware was showing it’s age.
Enter – ASRock ION 330 + XBMC Linux + VDPAU = 
I won’t be going into any detail here but there is plenty of detailed information available on the official XBMC site. The forums have been my guide with some very knowledgable people out there.
So I’ve put this page together to showcase my setup, spread the word on XBMC and maybe give a little guidance for anyone planning on a HTPC setup.
